Access International Research Programmes
Enterprise Ireland has an extensive network of contacts and official linkages with international science and technology agencies and funding bodies. We use this network to provide opportunities for academic researchers in Ireland to collaborate with some of the finest research teams in Europe and win funding for Irish research projects. Here is a list of the programmes Enterprise Ireland can currently help you to access and participate in:
Horizon 2020 - the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation
Horizon 2020, FP7's successor, is the financial instrument implementing the Innovation Union, a Europe 2020 flagship initiative aimed at securing Europe's global competitiveness. Running from 2014 to 2020 with a targeted €70 billion budget, the EU’s new programme for research and innovation is part of the drive to create new growth and jobs in Europe. Further information is available at Horizon 2020.
Science with and for Society (SwafS) 2018-2020 Programme
Science with and for Society (SwafS) is a Horizon 2020 programme that aims to build effective cooperation between science and society, to recruit new talent for science, and to pair scientific excellence with social awareness and responsibility. It is instrumental in addressing the European societal challenges tackled by Horizon 2020, building capacities and developing innovative ways of connecting science to society. It makes science more attractive, raises the appetite of society for innovation, and opens further research and innovation activities. Further information is available at: SwafS 2018-2020.
COST - European cooperation in science and technology
This inter-governmental initiative is focused on the promotion and facilitation of networking, it does not fund any research. There is a limited budget to cover travel to networking meetings and conferences. Further information is available at: COST.
