Skills to Work
Skills to Work is a new Irish Government jobs campaign, aimed at making it easier for jobseekers and employers to know what Government skills initiatives are available to them and to encourage businesses employ people currently on the Live Register. Using a quick and easy online guide, www.skillsforwork.ie, you can find out which of the Government skills initiatives - Springboard, JobsPlus – could best suit you.
Springboard
The Springboard initiative in Higher Education offers free, part-time courses at Certificate, Degree and Masters level. All courses lead to qualifications in enterprise sectors which are growing and need skilled personnel, including information and communications technology (ICT); manufacturing; international financial services; and key skills for enterprise to trade internationally. Qualifications are also available in cross-enterprise skills such as innovation, enterprise/entrepreneurship, digital marketing, and project management. All courses are part-time, enabling you to keep social protection supports. Further information is available at: www.springboardcourses.ie
JobsPlus
JobsPlus is a new employer incentive, from the Department of Social Protection which encourages and rewards employers who offer employment opportunities to the long term unemployed. The incentive will replace the existing Employer Job PRSI Exemption and the Revenue Job Assist schemes. Further information is available at
