John McMahon

John McMahon was appointed to the Board of Enterprise Ireland on 26th March, 2014.

John has over twenty year’s consulting and training experience in a UK based business and economic development consultancy of which he and two partners were founding directors. The consultancy ran publicly funded business development programmes for high potential SME’s, trained business support professionals including business advisers, mentors, consultants and bankers and developed local, regional and national economic and business development strategies. The Cambridge based business was active in all nine English regions and undertook international assignments on behalf of the World Bank, UNDP and EU in 13 countries.

John has recently reoriented to Ireland and is now engaged with a range of growth ambitious early stage companies.

Prior to establishing the UK operation, he spent 14 years with IDA Ireland where he held various senior roles including Chief Economist and Head of Enterprise Development. He is a graduate of UCD and the Cranfield School of Management.
